Olivier Verscheure is the Executive Director of the Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC), the result of a national initiative and joint project between EPFL in Lausanne and ETH in Zurich, with a mission to promote data science and artificial intelligence (AI) within universities and industry. Leveraging his expertise, Olivier brings over 20 years of professional experience in industrial research, innovation, and leadership.
After 17 years at IBM Research in New York and Dublin, where he led several scientific teams, Olivier returned to Switzerland with a joint appointment at EPFL and ETH Zurich. In addition to his academic activities, Olivier remains actively involved in the private sector, serving on the board of directors of Lonza SA, the global leader in the development and manufacturing of bio-pharmaceutical products.
