Like all products and services, financial products are traded on dedicated markets: the financial markets. Their prices reflect supply and demand, and are therefore constantly evolving. Unlike savings, investment involves a degree of risk that needs to be measured and managed effectively.
Presentation of the program
This short program will improve understanding of the fundamental concepts of investing and financial markets, and alert participants to the risks and opportunities of stock market investing.
Four aspects in particular will be covered:
- Asset allocation and portfolio optimization.
- Portfolio management strategies.
- Introduction to derivatives and bonds.
- Risk management, including currency risk.
The program will be completed by an analysis of the roles and functions of several financial intermediaries. All the fundamental concepts of the program will be supplemented by practical exercises and illustrations based on real-life cases.
