Project teams are by definition diverse: stakeholders have different functions, different roles, but also different identities (whether differences in gender, origin, sexual orientation, religion, or physical ability). These differences can be as much an asset to the project as a burden.
As numerous studies show, the benefits of a diverse team include more varied collective intelligence, better market knowledge, greater creativity and higher productivity. Therefore, to turn differences into advantages, an inclusive approach to collaboration and leadership is necessary and essential.
In addition to defining diversity, this short program aims to (1) understand the needs, challenges and obstacles of different identities, (2) develop inclusive habits of collaboration and interaction, and (3) create a work climate based on psychological safety and collective empowerment.

Learning objectives

  1. Define diversity, its issues and challenges, and identify its most important dimensions.
  2. Develop a mindset adapted to identity, cognitive and functional diversity.
  3. Develop habits of collaboration and inclusive interaction to successfully carry out projects.

Target audience

  1. Project, portfolio or program managers or stakeholders wishing to improve their skills.
  2. Managers or professionals seeking to explore a human and inclusive approach to project management.
  3. Anyone interested in improving their understanding of social diversity to successfully manage a project.
